Join us for an unforgettable Ruffed Grouse hunting adventure at Dead North Adventures. Call us today to plan your remarkable bird hunting experience in the heart of Maine's natural beauty.

The Ruffed Grouse, locally known as Partridge, remains a symbol of bird hunting in Northern Maine.

While our area is a haven for bird dogs to showcase their skills, they aren't necessary for a successful hunt. A typical hunting day can yield numerous flushes with or without a dog, making every outing an adventure.

Our thriving bird populations have contributed to some exceptional years in bird hunting. The outlook remains promising as we continue to prioritize conservation efforts. The Maine bird hunt season spans from October 1st to December 31st, allowing ample time to pursue your passion. With a daily limit of four birds, the thrill of the hunt awaits.

Venture into the Northern Maine Woods, where our luxurious lodging provides the perfect base camp. Situated on the edge of the vast Big Woods of Maine, we're conveniently close to prime hunting areas while offering a comfortable retreat. You can easily access hundreds of miles of dirt roads from our lodge, ready for exploration during the bird season.

Experience diverse terrain as you traverse old skidder roads through dense softwood thickets, old-growth hardwood, and young beech, birch, and maple groves. Our habitat offers a variety of landscapes, from lowlands with Spruce and Fir to open hardwood ridges. Most of our Ruffed Grouse hunting occurs on old logging roads, providing an accessible and rewarding hunt.

With gauges ranging from 410 through 12 and size 6-7 shot, we ensure you're well-equipped for a successful hunt. Grouse and Woodcock thrive in our habitat, offering a dynamic and exciting experience for hunters. Our comprehensive hunting packages include lodging, meals, and expert guidance, whether you choose a non-guided or guided adventure.
